Climate Change Grants

Upcoming climate change grants, 2024/2025: 

There are three climate change grants available this financial year. These include the Climate Change Community Grant, Business Grant and the Adaptation Grant.  

Dates for 2024/2025 grant rounds: 

25 October 2024 to 1 December 2024 

• Community Grant 

7 March 2025 to 6 April 2025 

• Adaptation Grant 

11 April 2025 to 11 May 2025 

• Business Grant 

Previous climate change grants, 2023/2024:  

Successful Climate Change Business Grant recipients, July 2024: 

With a total funding pool of $50,000, the council awarded grants to three projects, each with the potential to make a significant impact on our community. 

• The Cargo e-Bike Initiative 
  • Applicant: Bike Hub Nelson Inc 
  • Amount awarded: $8,970.56 

• Low-emissions commuting 
  • Applicant: Businesses for Climate Action/Mission Zero 
  • Amount awarded: $20,000 

• Advertising public transport on the back of the e-buses 
  • Applicant: Nelson Transport Strategy Group, Nelsust Inc 
  • Amount awarded: $21,000
