Kate Fulton
My principal place of residence is in the Nelson City Council - At Large area.
Climate Action, Healthy Environment, Connected Communities.
Growing up in Nelson, I have loved this city as a child, as a teenager, and as a mother raising three children.
Travelling overseas, I completed a PhD in Chemistry at Cambridge University, England. I then lived in Melbourne, Australia, working as a research scientist.
I have served on Council for nine years. I bring an evidence- based perspective, alongside kindness, compassion, and creativity.
I have the tenacity to persevere, an enduring optimism, and the governance experience required to champion generational solutions on the big issues: the climate crisis, global environmental collapse, and social inequity.
Nelson's smart city solutions include:
Rapidly accelerated local responses to the climate emergency declaration.
Continued restoration of biodiversity, fresh water, and marine environments.
Promoting a regenerative economy, which places social foundations and ecological guardianship, at the heart of prosperity and wellbeing.
