Temporary Road Closure - Atawhai Crescent

Nelson City Council has received a proposal from Fulton Hogan to temporarily close the following road/s to ordinary traffic between the dates listed below:

Atawhai Crescent – full length

Date and time of scheduled closure: Monday 24 February to Tuesday 25 February 2025 – 7:00 am to 6:00 pm

Contingency dates and times when closure may occur: Wednesday 26 February to Tuesday 4 March 2025 - 7:00 am to 6:00 pm

The closure is for chip sealing (resealing the surface of the road)

• Vehicle access for residents/businesses, couriers and home help will be available, but please be prepared for delays. As work progresses along the road and the first layer of chip is applied, resident access will be managed by onsite staff.
• Work will begin at the Northern end, and advance along the road in stages. Access will be provided, at first via the Southern intersection with SH6, it will then switch to the Northern intersection with SH6 as the work progresses. Please follow the signage and directions from onsite staff.
• No roadside parking will be available. Rubbish and recycling bin collection will be managed by onsite staff and pedestrian access will be provided safely.
• Bus stops on Atawhai Crescent will be closed - the eBus will be detoured via SH6 (Atawhai Drive) - please see eBus.nz for further details.
