Temporary Road Closure - Daelyn Drive

Nelson City Council has received a proposal from Downer to temporarily close the following road/s to ordinary traffic between the dates listed below:

Daelyn Drive - at the intersection with Champion Road only

Date and time of scheduled closure: Monday 20 January to Thursday 23 January 2025 – 6:00 am to 6:30 pm each day (road will be open overnight)

Contingency dates and times when closure may occur: Friday 24 January to Sunday 26 January 2025 – 6:00 am to 6:30 pm each day (road will be open overnight)

The requirement to close this intersection is due to a single lane closure on Champion Road approved by Tasman District Council for chip sealing work.

All side streets, including Daelyn Drive must be closed while the Nelson side of Champion Road is being chip sealed.

Vehicle access for residents/businesses, couriers and home help will be available via a detour (access via Hill Street North – Fullford Drive – John Sutton Place). Rubbish and recycling bins will be collected as normal and pedestrian access will be available.

There will be a sign posted detour in place from Salisbury Road – along Templemore Drive – to Hill Street.

The Route 1 eBus will be diverted along Salisbury Road for the duration of the Champion Road works – please check the eBus.nz website closer to the time for detailed information.
