Proposed Temporary Road Closure - Hathaway Terrace & Hathaway Court (NBS Nelson Santa Parade)

Location: Hathaway Terrace and Hathaway Court

Date and time of scheduled closure: Sunday 1 December 2024, closed from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm

Contingency date and time: Sunday 15 December 2024, same times as above.

It is proposed that there will be a temporary closure of both Hathaway Terrace and access to Hathaway Court for the Santa Parade.

Map above shows the proposed parking and access arrangements for residents.

The parade will start from Montgomery Square and finish at Hathaway Carpark.

A Traffic Management Plan (TMP) will be developed if the closure is approved.

Part of that TMP will be to provide access to all residents that adjoin Hathaway Terrace and Hathaway Court, when it is safe to do so. Please be aware that there might be delays for access. 

To understand how this closure could impact residents/businesses, Council is seeking feedback on this proposal, by Wednesday 23 October 2024.

The decision on whether the road will be closed will be advertised on the Council's website, www.nelson.govt.nz. Residents/ businesses in the affected areas will also be informed via a letterbox drop.
