Proposed Temporary Road Closure - NBS Nelson Santa Parade
Nelson City Council has received a proposal from Downer to temporarily close the below roads to ordinary traffic. The dates and times are listed below.
Sunday 1 December 2024 - 5:00 am to 2:00 pm:
- Montgomery Square Carpark and Entrances
Sunday 1 December 2024 - 8:30 am to 4:00 pm:
- Hardy Street – between Rutherford Street and Morrison Street
- Church Street
- Park Street
Sunday 1 December 2024 – 10:30am – 4:00pm
- Trafalgar Street – between Hardy Street to Grove Street and Hathaway Terrace including Trafalgar Park Lane, Trafalgar Carpark, Bridge Street, Wakatu Lane, New Street and Halifax Street.
Sunday 1 December 2024 - 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm:
- Bridge Street – at the intersection with Trafalgar Street
- Halifax Street - at the intersection with Trafalgar Street
Contingency date and time: Sunday 15 December 2024, same times as above.
Vehicle access for businesses and couriers only will be available where possible but delays are likely.
The roads will be closed, and access will be unavailable during this time.
The parade will start from Montgomery Square and finish at Hathaway Carpark.
To understand how this closure could impact residents/businesses, Council is seeking feedback on this proposal, by Wednesday 23 October 2024.
