Paremata Flats Restoration

Paremata Flats in North Nelson has been the focus of the Paremata Flats restoration group. This community group, with the support of Council and Forest and Bird, has undertaken trapping and planting work to bring this habitat back to its natural state - a home for the rare Banded Rail, and a place for our children to value in years to come.
