Celebrating 150 years of Nelson City Council! 

Bring along your favourite teddy and enjoy a picnic with whānau and friends at the annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic. 

Beloved children’s performer Kath Bee will be headlining the entertainment alongside other local acts.  

There will be lots of interactive fun for kids, including; face painting, a tea party with Faerie Lou and bug-viewing with the crew from the Brook Waimārama Sanctuary. Professional storyteller Roger Sanders will be mesmerising the crowd with his stories of old. 

There will be a Teddy Bear School where your teddy can learn their ABC’s, and a Teddy Bear Hospital for any bear care needed.  

To celebrate 150 years of Nelson City Council we will be offering cream scones to go with your picnic as well as a very special prize for the best loved or oldest bear!    

Bring a picnic, hat and sunscreen. Wheelchair accessible.

Alcohol free / smoke free event.

This event will be cancelled if it's wet.
